Traditional CO² lasers work by heat, which drives results but also drives downtime. CoolPeel uses ultra-short pulses on the Deka Tetra platform to remove damaged surface skin with very little heat left behind — so you peel lightly for a few days rather than healing for a week.
At Serene Med Spa in Hudson, CoolPeel is the treatment for patients who want more than Moxi but less than full resurfacing: enlarged pores, rough texture, fine lines, sun damage and dullness on the face, neck, chest and hands. After numbing, the treatment takes about 15 minutes and feels like warm prickling. Skin is pink for a day and feels like a mild sunburn, then flakes lightly for three to five days; makeup can go on by day two or three. Results are visible within a week and build over a series of three treatments spaced a month apart. Each treatment is $400. For deeper lines and scars, the same laser is used at higher settings as our Deka CO² resurfacing ($600–$1,000).

Both are low-downtime. Moxi is non-ablative and safest for darker skin and melasma; CoolPeel removes a thin surface layer for a stronger effect on pores and texture, best for lighter to medium skin tones.
CoolPeel is best for Fitzpatrick types I–III. For deeper skin tones we recommend Moxi or Morpheus8.
