Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it — in plain language.
Last updated: August 2026
The short version
We never sell your information. Not to anyone, for any price.
- We collect what we need to answer your questions, book your visits, and take care of you.
- We share it only with the companies that help us run the practice, and only so they can do that job.
- You can ask us what we have, and you can ask us to delete it.
- Your medical records are protected separately, under stricter rules.
The rest of this page explains each of those in more detail.
What we collect
What you give us. When you fill out a form, book a consultation, buy something, or contact us, you give us your name, email address, phone number, and whatever else that form asks for — such as which location you're interested in and how you'd prefer to be contacted. If you make a purchase, our payment processor handles your card details; we don't store your full card number.
What we see automatically. Like nearly every website, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, which pages you looked at, and how you got here. This is standard web traffic data, and we use it to understand what's working on the site and what isn't.
Please don't send us medical details through website forms or ordinary email. Neither is a secure channel. We'll gather anything clinical securely at your visit or through our patient system.
How we use it
- To respond to your question or consultation request
- To book, confirm, and remind you about appointments
- To process purchases and handle returns
- To send offers and updates, if you've asked to receive them
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- To meet our legal and professional obligations as a medical practice
Calls, texts, and email
We contact you the way you asked us to. When you request a consultation, you tell us whether you'd prefer a call, a text, or an email, and we use that preference to reach you about your request and about your appointments.
Marketing messages are different. We only send offers, specials, and announcements to people who have checked the box asking for them. Choosing "text me" on a consultation form is not a sign-up for marketing texts.
Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can stop texts any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Opting out of marketing doesn't stop appointment reminders you've asked for. We never sell or rent your phone number.
Cookies and advertising
Our site uses cookies — small files your browser stores — to keep the site working properly, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is performing. We also use analytics and advertising tools from companies like Google and Meta, which use cookies and similar technologies to help us understand our traffic and show our ads to people who might be interested in them.
This means those companies receive usage data about visits to our site. To be clear about where the line is: we don't hand them your name, your treatment interests, or anything you tell us about your health. And we're not paid for any of it — we're the ones buying the advertising.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, which let you block them, delete them, or be warned before they're set. Blocking cookies may keep parts of the site from working. To limit interest-based advertising across sites generally, visit optout.aboutads.info.
Who we share it with
We share your information with the companies that help us operate — our website host, scheduling and payment systems, email and text messaging services, and our customer records system. They're permitted to use your information only to provide that service to us, and nothing else.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, such as in response to a subpoena or court order, or where we believe it's necessary to protect someone's safety or to investigate fraud. And if the business is ever sold, information may transfer to the new owner, who would remain bound by the commitments on this page.
What we never do: we don't sell your personal information, we don't rent or trade our patient or contact lists, and we don't pass your information to other businesses for their own marketing.
Your medical information
Anything that qualifies as protected health information — your chart, your treatment history, your clinical photographs, anything you tell a provider — is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices under HIPAA, not by this page. Those rules are stricter than this policy, and where the two ever disagree, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
You'll receive a copy of that notice at your first visit, and you can request one any time by emailing info@serenemedspas.com.
Your choices
You can ask us for a report of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@serenemedspas.com or call (304) 520-0461. We'll confirm your request within 10 days and complete it within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity first.
Some states give residents specific privacy rights. We extend these choices to everyone who asks, regardless of where you live, so there's no need to look up whether your state qualifies. You will never be treated differently for exercising them.
One limit worth knowing: we're required to retain medical records for a set period under state law and professional rules. If you ask us to delete everything, we'll delete what we're permitted to delete and tell you what we have to keep.
How we protect it
Your information is stored on servers in the United States, protected by the physical, electronic, and organizational safeguards you'd expect of a medical practice. We keep it only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires.
No system connected to the internet is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise. If you have a concern about the security of your information, contact us and we'll look into it.
Children
This website is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information through the site from anyone under 16, and if we find that we have, we'll delete it. Minors receiving treatment at our locations are handled through our clinical intake process with a parent or guardian involved.
Questions, and changes to this page
Email info@serenemedspas.com or call (304) 520-0461 with any question about this policy or about information we hold.
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be announced on the site rather than made quietly.
